Essential steps to "dazzle down the aisle" – Great ideas and suggestions from Ellen Conlin-Main of Ellen Conlin Hair and Beauty

Your wedding day is one of the most memorable and most photographed days of your life, so it’s understandable that you will want to look flawless and fabulous. However the preparation building up to any wedding is extremely frantic and with so much to organise some brides don’t set enough time aside for themselves!
Award winning celebrity hair and beauty salon, Ellen Conlin Hair and Beauty - situated in the heart of Glasgow’s vibrant and stylish West End has a wealth of experience dealing with brides to be. Managing director, Ellen Conlin-Main, recognises that many women try and juggle too much when preparing for their wedding and believes that it is important to share some of the burden and allow the experts to relieve some of stress.

With the wedding season fast approaching Ellen Conlin-Main has put together some great beauty and hair tips which are guaranteed to make an impact an ensure that you look perfect and polished on your wedding day.
Ellen says: “Every bride wants to look understated yet glamorous. The key is to prepare in advance and allow the experts to give you a helping hand. It is important for us to gain an insight in to your wedding plans to ensure that your hair and make-up will complement every detail from your dress to the colour of your flowers. It is also important to take in to account hair colouring and skin tone to ensure that you shine.”
Here are Ellen’s top Bridal Tips:
Prepare in Advance
Take some time out of your busy schedule to unwind and relax. Try a Dermalux TriWave Facial to stimulate the collagen in your skin, giving you a fantastic glowing look, ideal the day before the wedding.
Groomed eyebrows and a light tan will give you an ideal base. As well as hydrating your skin by drinking lots of water to make sure skin is clear and radiant, keep your hair well moisturised, using an intensive conditioning treatment in the few days before your wedding.  A French manicure and pedicure – suggest the Orly FX Gel polish and your nails will last right through your honeymoon! Nails will also add to the look and if time allows a massage will help you unwind.
 A Magical Makeover
Your makeup should complement your skin tone as well as the colour of your dress and hair. To create a beautiful natural look I would suggest a concealer and a light foundation.  Rather than full blown glamour, brides can still look sassy and stylish by opting for a much more minimal look. There is a gorgeous array of pastel shades available this season. Stepping away from smouldering deep colours, this season brides will be choosing lighter colours to create a softer look. To ensure all eyes are on you go for a mauve colour and a soft blush for cheeks such as Elizabeth Arden Pro - Perfecting Foundations range to create a gorgeous fresh look.
Pink is really hot this season, whether it is bright or pale, so to complete the look, finish with some subtle sexy pink gloss, such as Vitage Nature’s Own Lip Gloss or Fushcia Glaze

So many brides radically change their hair style, for their wedding day, to the extent that they are completely unrecognisable. My biggest piece of advice is to keep your hair style as minimal and as natural looking as possible. A trial run is essential and make sure you take in to account the cut and style of your dress. Subtle hair accessories will also add a touch of elegance to your style.

If you have long hair and you want to create a touch of Hollywood glamour, wear it down and blow dry it using volumising mousse and use rollers to create some truly glamorous curls. Shorter hair can also look sexy and glossy by using some shine spray and adding a tiara to look that extra bit special.

If however you do opt for an “up-do”, simplicity and natural is key and some loose tumbling curls can really add some glamour.
