IIP is a Standard that goes far beyond simple training activities. The formal Standard has four "indicators" that are used to assess whether your company meets the Standard. There are four principles to the Standard:
An Investor in People is fully committed to developng it's staff in order to achieve it's aims and objectives.
An Investor in People is clear about it's aims and objectives and what it's people need to do to achieve them.
An Investor In People develops it's staff effectively in order to improve it's performance.
An Investor in People understands the impact of it's investment in people on its performance.
Ellen Conlin Hair & Beauty were awarded Investor In People status in November 2002 and were successfully reviewed in November 2005.
Ellen Conlin Hair and Beauty landed the Caledonian Business School Award for Excellence in Skills & Learning at the 9th annual Glasgow Business Awards, held on Thursday 20th April, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Glasgow.
Last year, the salon was named Scottish Enterprise Glasgow Award for Best Performing Business (6 – 25 employees) at the Glasgow Business Awards 2005.
Its award for skills and learning follows shortly after the salon’s in-house training scheme, known as HEAD training, was accredited by the Scottish Qualifications Authority.
ECH reached the semi-finals in this worldwide competition confirming their status as one of the world’s elite salons. The salon was initially nominated by hair giants Wella as a result of ECH performance in the Glasgow Business Awards.
The Global Business Awards criteria was based on Business/Hairdressing Skills, People Management, Financial Success and Future Objectives.
Ellen Conlin Hair & Beauty were awarded Best National Make Up Salon for the Cosmeceuticals product i.d. Bare Escentuals. ECH are one of the major retailers for this outstanding product in the Glasgow area, which helped them to gain this prestigious award. The award was presented by Dr Patrick Bowler of GMTV and the Channel 4 10 Years Younger series. Ellen was delighted to accept the award on behalf of the salon.
